Swillington Saints was recently formed in 1999. The Saints originally joining the Selby and District league and then moving onto the West Yorkshire Football League where they currently reside. The football sides of Swillington have had previous incarnations as Miners Welfare, Swillington Welfare for many years previous.

Swillington Saints Juniors were formed again in 2018, aafter a 16 year break from the previous junior section.
